AI Image Generators & Editors
AI image tools fall into two groups: generators that create a new image from a text prompt or a reference picture, and editors that change a photo you already have, such as removing the background, sharpening a blurry shot or adding a person. Below they are grouped by what they do, followed by every tool in this category with its pricing.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between an AI image generator and an AI image editor?
A generator creates a new image from a text prompt or a reference picture. An editor works on a photo you already have, for example removing the background, unblurring it or removing a person. Many tools now do both, but most are clearly stronger at one of the two.
Are there free AI image generators?
Yes. Stable Diffusion is open source and free to run on your own computer. Most hosted tools in this list, including Leonardo AI, Adobe Firefly and DALL-E 3, are freemium: a limited free allowance, then a paid plan. Midjourney has no free plan. Each tool's page shows its pricing model.
Which tool should I use to remove a background or fix a blurry photo?
Use an editor rather than a generator. RemoveLayer focuses on background removal, Unblur Image on sharpening blurry photos, and Editaimg covers general retouching and watermark removal.
Where can I find prompts that work?
Our GPT Image prompt library collects prompts by style and use case, such as product photography, posters and 3D illustration, most with the image they produced. Browse GPT Image prompts
